A Modern Approach To Help You Stop Drinking
I’ve been there.
When I say I’ve been there, I mean it.
I have done the “all-nighters” — sometimes many days in a row. I was often the last one up. I experienced many black-outs, job losses, financial difficulties, brushes with the law, and I hurt many people. I hid, justified and lied about my problematic drinking and cocaine use. I lived a double life with cover ups, irritability, anger, sadness and depression.
I've been to a detox facility twice, drug and alcohol in-patient rehab twice, hundreds of support groups and many counselling sessions to get to where I am today. All character building stuff a long time ago. I am a different person now.
I've held many positions within my field of work in the non-profit, public health and private sector prior to launching my own company. I’m fired up about helping other people get to the place where they, too, are living better, healthier, and bigger lives. I work with discretion and confidentiality. Today I provide discrete customized services including Sober (Recovery) Coaching, Sober Companions, Safe Passage Sober Transportation, Treatment Placement, Case Management, Invitational Interventions and Drug and Alcohol Consulting services to a variety of individual clients, families, private enterprise, insurance companies, Veterans Affairs Canada, treatment centres and many other entities.
I'm Michael. Today I am one of Canada's leading Sober Coaches, Interventionists and Substance Use & Addiction Specialists. I absolutely love my job!
Client’s Story - For Real!
My wife, who is very supportive and understanding, was considering whether it would be best for my recovery, for her and our children — to end our marriage. My initial meeting with Michael was not dramatic. I appreciated that he didn't over-promise or hit me with hype and emotion. A key part of our conversation was to establish some basic goals with a realistic timeline.
Yes — We Are Still Working With Clients!
Because of COVID-19, we have moved much of our work with clients to video and telephone. The exception is Interventions which we can do in-person on a case-by-case basis or by aworking with the family through video if not too complex of a situation.
Boulevard Magazine Victoria BC — Influencers Issue 2020
I was approached by Boulevard Magazine to take part in the yearly Influencers Issue and I said yes again in 2020. This is an opportunity to share what I do with thousands of readers. There are some wonderful people doing great things in the southern Vancouver Island region.
