Miranda Hay
CCAC | SEP
My name is Miranda Hay and I am a Canadian Certified Addictions Counsellor and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner from Calgary, Alberta.
I started my journey in the human services field working with vulnerable youth, and then transitioned into the field of addiction. I have spent the last 8 years working specifically with women in different programs within inpatient treatment facilities. I have worked in aftercare, short term and long term programs, counselling individually as well as facilitating process style groups.
I work from a trauma informed lens while integrating a somatic approach in order to help bring more safety and regulation to the nervous system while navigating the recovery process.
My own journey through trauma has been an ongoing one and will forever be a part of my human experience. The healing process has allowed me to truly meet others from a lens of empathy and compassion while bringing awareness to what can happen when we have the right supports to guide us. We all have our own story and we are not meant to go through this process of healing alone. It is with a safe space, connection and support that we can move into a place of embodied awareness and find strength in recovery. My passion is to provide that safe and open space for individuals to come back to themselves and re-connect with their own innate ability to heal so that they can experience life in a fulfilling and embodied way.
In my free time I enjoy being active, connecting with my community, family and friends, hiking in the beautiful Rocky Mountains and spending quiet time at home with my cat watching lighthearted movies.
Miranda can work with clients across Canada and the USA.
