Diane O'Reilly
Recovery Coach CCRC | Sober Companion
As a woman in addiction recovery for over 3 decades myself, I bring a deeply personal understanding, empathy and insight to the role of Addiction Recovery Coach. For me this role is much, much more than a career, it’s more of a vocation, one that chose me.
Though I’m an experienced Life Coach, (coaching for 15 years as a general and specialized Life Coach), I’m now ready to bring all of my personal recovery experiences into the role of Addiction Recovery Coach.
My own recovery journey from Alcohol Use Disorder began in my twenties and has involved working on personal trauma, codependency, relationship and family issues, as well as mental health diagnoses and treatments that together richly inform my work as a Recovery Coach. These experiences give me a broad and open perspective in all the ways that addiction affects us and those around us, as well as a keen sense of the myriad ways we can recover.
My Coaching strengths are for:
- Creating the non-judgemental and emotionally safe space needed to re-imagine and rebuild a new way of being.
- Uncovering any unmet needs that, when addressed, help ignite optimism, motivation and stability.
- Breaking down the enormity of rebuilding a new life into small, do-able, practical steps and habits.
- Re-awakening lost creativity, passion and talents that have been buried by addiction.
Though born and raised in England, I’ve called Canada home for most of my adult life, living in and around the G.T.A. and raising my four sons in Oakville. Now they’re all flown and grown, I’m living back in T.O., enjoying city life and in serious danger of becoming a meme as I adopt the craze of pickleball! When not pickleballing I love to read, paint, write, spend time with friends, walk in the park, hike, bike and fully embrace this gift of a sober life.
